Shirley JoyceBROWN23 April 1936 – 17 November 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Joyce Brown, beloved wife of the late Charles Douglas Brown, devoted mum to Julie, Elaine, and Steve, and cherished grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley had a long and well-regarded career as a Print Room Manager for local industry BRUSH, where her strength, determination, and leadership inspired many. She was a woman of incredible loyalty whose family was her world.

Community spirited, Shirley gave her time generously as a key figure within the local Mothers’ Union, WI, and EMMA groups. She was also a regular companion at a local care home, always ready to help anyone in need. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering support touched countless lives.

Her love of music and singing was clear in her involvement with several choirs over the years, as well as regularly attending concerts and performances with her close friends.

Shirley will be remembered as an amazing person - inspirational, strong, and devoted to those she loved most. Her legacy of compassion and commitment will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A thanksgiving service for Shirley will be held on Thursday 4th December at 3.30pm at Emmanuel Church, Loughborough. All are welcome. At her request, guests do not have to necessarily wear black, as she wanted the service to reflect a celebration of her life rather than a time of mourning.

Donations in lieu of flowers will be collected for Loros and Marie Curie who offered so much help and support to Shirley and the family.
